Tuktuujaq — Fly of the Family Tipulidae

Tuktuujaq, also known as tuktuvak ("big caribou", "moose"), is a large long-legged fly that, according to the Inuit, resembles a caribou, perhaps because of its long slender legs. Tuktuujaq means "one that looks like a caribou". They remark that when a bird such as a snow bunting catches one in its beak, the insect wiggles its long legs.
